SRAM acquires RacerMate’s VeloTron

CHICAGO, IL (USA) – SRAM has acquired the Velotron® line of precision ergometers from RacerMate™.  Based in Seattle, Wash., RacerMate’s Velotron has become the gold standard for performance testing and evaluation in laboratories and training centers around the world.

SRAM will provide phone and email support from its Quarq™ facility in Spearfish, S.D., starting immediately. Manufacturing operations will resume later this year.

“The Velotron technology is a perfect fit for our capabilities and our mission of offering advanced measurement tools for cyclists. We are excited to add a new dimension to SRAM,” said Quarq’s founder, Jim Meyer.

Universities, sport science laboratories and coaching centers use Velotron because it delivers laboratory-grade accuracy and repeatability for indoor cycling. Velotron provides an unmatched ride experience thanks in part to a 55-pound flywheel, virtual coasting and software that displays key metrics including SpinScan and 3D bike courses.

Sales or service inquiries should be made to Quarq at 1-800-660-6853 (International 605-642-6226) or www.quarq.com
