Filming Diary -

This is the Olympic distance section of the Knoxville course filmed the day prior to the 2013 race. Filmed without the luxury of a closed course (where you can run stop-lights) you’re going to hit a few along the way. We did the best we could to mask what happens in a Real Course Video. You will be given a static “Please continue to pedal” image rather than a very fast-motion image.

Also, some sections of the course run out and back on the same side of the road, which in the case of a freeway makes it impossible to safely film going in the wrong direction.  Despite attempts to include the initial 3 miles or so it was finally decided to start this RCV at mile 3.3, which unfortunately also begins at the base of a small incline of 4.6%.  So start this course in low gear.  The same goes with the last mile or so.. we end the ride as soon as you exit the John White Parkway.

We originally filmed the entire course, but an apparent course change made only the middle Olympic Distance section valid for this release.

We hope you enjoy this course!
